Okay, when you hear the term “backyard wedding” does the wedding from Steel Magnolias come to mind? It certainly always has for me. BUT these past couple years, I’ve shot some backyard weddings that have been absolutely stunning. Kenzee and Andy knocked it out of the park with their location and family-focused celebration!
Laura Beth (whose wedding I shot a few years back) was the planner and coordinator. I’ve worked with her before, and she is a joy and so well organized.
The bride and groom each got ready in their own homes close to the ceremony site. If you think that you need a fancy bridal suite for great pictures, think again!
The actual ceremony was overlooking the Colorado river in beautiful Bend, TX. Just a 15 minute drive from my ranch (bonus!!) Big shout out to Brittaney Ortiz for being my drone operator.
Natalie Watkins of Untamed Mane Salon in Lampasas, TX did Kenzee’s hair.
Kenzee was super nervous about walking in the grass in heels, but it turned out to not be a big deal at all! (Her words, not mine)
I loved the personal touches these two added to their day. Kenzee and Andy wanted to make sure I got specific photos of objects and people. Personal items really help tell a story of not just the couple but the legacy they help to continue.
This lovely cake was assembled by a family friend! Kenzee says one of her favorite parts of the wedding was watching Andy’s little sister get the first piece of cake!
Kenzee got her dress at Main Street Bridal in Belton, TX.
My favorite part of this wedding was getting to shoot in this super gorgeous location with two very fun people who were down for all my crazy ideas!
